Hi, I'm Kavita Gupta.
I am a credentialed AP and Honors Chemistry teacher at a local high school in cupertino for over 16 years. I have been an innovative teacher who believes in continuous growth and improvement. Based on these beliefs, I have adopted the blended model of teaching and learning in the classroom with great success. I have created rich online resources such as a free interactive iBook, podcasts, powerpoints, reviews, problems sets, practice exams and many other resources to help students learn.
Over the years, I have mentored many award winning student projects such as Siemens, Intel ISEF, Synopsys, and the DuPont Challenge. My students have been part of the National Chemistry Olympiad Team and the Study Camp. In addition, I have enjoyed sharing innovative teaching techniques with nation-wide teachers at the College Board National Conference (AP Annual Conference) and National Science Teachers’ Association Conference as a presenter.
I have published articles on the blended teaching-learning model in The Teacher magazine for the Australian Council for Educational Research and for the Edutopia-Learning Community for teachers. I am currently serving as part of NSTA STEM Forum Steering Committee where I set the evaluation criteria for session proposals, evaluate them, attend the sessions and give the closing speech for the high school strand at this national conference.
